Privacy, in full

Each count is a single event, not a person. There are five kinds:

• that a part of the experience was finished, and which part;
• that a swapped choice was caught, or that it was missed;
• the number given to the last question and its currency, zero included, stored with the day and never the time;
• that the one-week experiment left the room, with nothing attached;
• that someone reached the end.

No name, email, account, device identifier, session identifier or internet address is stored with any of them, and no key links one count to another. Apart from the worth-number, each count carries the time it was made.

The sentences you write are shown back to you once and never leave your browser. They are not sent to our server, not logged and not counted. They are gone when you close the tab.

If you take the one-week experiment with you, the calendar file is made on your device, and the email opens in your own mail app, addressed to nobody. We never see either.

Sien uses no cookies. At the end, your browser keeps one mark that says you have been here, so the room can be honest with you if you come back. It holds nothing else. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it.

Paying is optional, and zero is a full answer. If you name an amount above zero, Sien opens a payment page run by Stripe. Sien tells Stripe only the amount, the currency and the words “What it was worth”. It sends no name, email or account, because it has none.

Stripe collects the payment details it asks for on its page and keeps its own record of the payment, under its own privacy policy. Sien never receives your card details. The payment is the one place anonymity ends: Stripe knows what card paid what amount. Sien never joins that to anything in the room, and because the worth count carries the day and not the time, the two cannot be matched.

Sien runs on Vercel. Like any web host, it sees the internet address your requests come from. Sien’s own code holds that address briefly in memory, only to stop anyone flooding the counts or the payment page, and never writes it down. There are no analytics scripts, no advertising and no third-party widgets.
